FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014:

Soccer really does not interest me, and the World Cup does not escape my disinterest.
All my family, including my son are fully trapped, so we met at my brother´s to watch the game. We bring the dessert, the hosts took charge of dinner, others the wine and beverages, etc. Besides, load my backpack a sketchbook and pen and 5 '(after the first goal for Argentina) I started drawing. I endure some jesting and everybody continued watching the game.
Did the line work for about 45 minutes and started some watercolour washes and finished at home. Drawn with  Kaweco fountain pen with EF nib with waterproof ink in Moleskine sketchbook large.

On Saturday June 14 took place the #39 Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires outing to San Martin Square in Retiro district.
This square is the main green space in the downtown area of Buenos Aires City and is one of the oldest.
Beyond its long history, the slope between the longer ends gives us a unusual view of Buenos Aires, especially in the  Fuerza Aerea Argentina Square and Torre Monumental, Retiro train station, the port, etc.

For the first sketch I promised a friend to draw the Kavanagh building, so I went straight to it. I walked around to set a point of view and draw for 1:30 hours with 005+01+02 fine liners  and 40 minutes of watercolors on location. On 200grm single sheet 9x13in.

For this second sketch, almost without moving from the point where I draw the Kavanagh building, I liked the view along San Martín St. towards Marcelo T. de Alvear St.. Over the cloister facade you can see the domes of the Santisimo Sacramento Basilica, another dome at the corner el San Martín and Alvear St., some dividing walls, etc.
Finally I stay in this corner of the square, but there are many notables building to draw all around, so surely I will sketch some more.
Drawn with 005 fine liner and watercolours  in Moleskine sketchbook large. In about one hour.

El 14/6/14, on: 6/14/14. Aca, here.

Iglesia Santa Felicitas / Santa Felicitas Church:

On Saturday 6/7 took place an Urban Sketchers Argentina outing to St. Felicitas Church, thanks to the recommendation of Ana Sapia.
A really horrible, rainy and cold day. But with a little luck in the afternoon the sun came out.
The place is ideal for drawing, apart from the beauty of the church, is opposite to Plaza Colombia that gives an excellent perspective to the temple. We did not take advantage of the views from the plaza because of the cold, instead we prefer to sit in the sun.
The first sketch I did from the corner, I liked the strong foreshortening of the whole front. And I decided to draw 2 spires and bell tower at the center. I liked too much the cut against the sky.
For this second I sat in front of the access to do another sketch looking up, this time focusing on the facade. I liked the contrast of the symmetry of the architecture lit from the left, as the light and dark areas are not equal on both sides.
Drawn with 005+01+02 fineliners on site in Moleskine sketchbook large. Later watercolours at my desk.
We ended the afternoon with a good coffee, hot …
