Vagando por microcentro / Roaming at downtown:

**************
Here I will post a compilation of sketches done generally at noon in downtown Buenos Aires.

This is a detail of the corner of the Otto Wulff building. Located at Belgrano Av. and Peru St. intersection. This is one of my favorites building in town.
The building was designed by danish Morten F. Rönnow, in Jugendstil style. Construction was completed in 1914 and was commissioned by the shipping entrepreneur Nicholas Mihanovich in partnership with fellow entrepreneur Otto Wulff and there settled the diplomatic delegation of Austria-Hungary which was the first honorary consul since 1899.
The facades are decorated with 8 Atlanteans in attitude of holding the building. Each figure characterize  any of the guilds who participated in the construction, mason, blacksmith, carpenter, etc. Even, there´s one with Rönnow face. There are also ornaments of the animal world as bears, penguins, owls, etc.
The assembly is topped on the corner with 2 domes made of reinforced concrete and high lanterns each.
I really hope that this building will be recycled as was done with other buildings of downtown, but being off the beaten track I doubt it will be done.
On 09/22/14 I draw this sketch of the corner/entrance, with Kaweco fountain pen with EF nib with waterproof ink in Moleskine sketchbook large.
The second sketch was drawn a time ago, with fine liner 005 + 01 on Brugge sketchbook 14x9cm, 100gms sheet. I was standing about 50m far away on the street (a bit dangerous). I'm not very happy with the result, but not so bad ;)

This is the entrance lobby of a offices building at Av. de Mayo 881. I always like this entrance a lot. It also has a very interesting dome with buttresses, but to draw it it must be in the morning because at noon the sun in front of the view.
This building was built between 1925 and 1927 by the GEOPE (General Company of Public Works) and designed by Alfredo and Alberto Olivari (father and son).
Drawn on site with Kaweco and Lamy fountain pens with EF nib with water resistant ink for about 2 hours, on Moleskine sketchbook large. Later watercolors at my desk, with touches of color pencils and white gel marker. As you can see, in 2 hours I didn´t achieve the hole drawing, when I get tired I leave.
